Premier League title race

Posted on April 25th, 2017

Premier League title race took a dramatic turn at the weekend as Chelsea suffered a 2-0 loss to Manchester United. Tottenham Hotspur took advantage of the situation and it seems as if the Premier League trophy is now a two-horse race. Premier League odds are changing weekly can’t really predict which team will lift the trophy by the end of the season.

Chelsea have been producing scintillating performances in the Premier League ever since Antonio Conte took over the reins. The Italian tactician is on the right track to bring glory days back to Stamford Bridge, but he must warn his men against complacency as Tottenham Hotspur are breathing down Chelsea’s neck.

The Blues impressed in the first half of the season, but they have been having their ups and downs in the English top flight of late. Following a shocking 2-1 loss to Crystal Palace at their Stamford Bridge on Matchday 30, Chelsea recorded back-to-back wins over the likes of Bournemouth and Manchester City, but they failed to impress in a 2-0 loss to Manchester United at Old Trafford in their last league match.

There are still six games to be played before the season comes to an end, meaning that upcoming league clash against Southampton is of big importance for the capital club. Antonio Conte’s troops do not take part in European competitions this term, meaning that tired legs are unlikely to prove to be a big problem for the Blues in the remainder of the season.

Key players Eden Hazard, Diego Costa and N’Golo Kante are all fit and seeing that first-choice goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has overcome his injury, it is no surprise a great number of football predictions suggest Chelsea will win the domestic trophy. The Blues won the national championship two seasons ago, with the team finishing the 2014/2015 campaign eight points clear of second-placed Manchester City.

Tottenham Hotspur, though, should not be written off just yet. It is well known that the club chiefs did remarkably well to keep hold of key players in the summer transfer window and their decision has already proved fruitful. Spurs are enjoying a very successful season and they are only four points behind Chelsea in the Premier League standings ahead of Matchday 34. With only a couple of Premier League fixtures planned we would recommend you to use inside information issued on Big and exciting games coming up in the Premier League!

Tottenham footballers have been gaining confidence week by week and they seem to be on top of their game in the season finale. Mauro Pochettino is doing a great job with the White Hart Lane outfit and his men rolled over the likes of Watford and Bournemouth in previous two league fixtures. However, considering that Spurs have yet to face the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Leicester City in the second half of the season, I do not believe that they will win their first Premier League (Football League First Division) trophy since 1961.

Taking everything into account, Chelsea are regarded as main favourites to win the silverware. The Blues will face the likes of Southampton, Everton, Middlesbrough, WBA, Watford and Sunderland in last six league games and they are likely to get their job done very soon. Liverpool and Manchester City have slim chances of winning the domestic trophy, but the two teams are on the right track to secure a top-four finish.
